Another important knot for any pike angler and one of the 'base' knots we all use from much of the time. The Tucked (Half) Blood knot allows firm fixings of nylon to all terminal tackle. Use this knot for all joints as an alternative to the Grinner knot if you are unhappy with tying it in its illustrated form.. Probably most used as a regular knot for attaching eyed hooks for general coarse fishing, it is a very good knot for attaching reel lines to trace swivels. There is a simpler version which is the same knot without the tail being taken back through the final loop, this is OK for lighter lines and attaching accessory bits, but should not be used for attaching reel line to trace swivels. The 'untucked' version can slip if pressured and poorly tied. Not suitable for braided lines and should be moistened before tightening!
